Every asset in Escapist is handmade. I build the game’s animations by photo-scanning analog paintings, drawings, miniatures, and prints, then translating them into playable surfaces. I work across oil paint, screenprinting, gouache, colored pencil, oil pastel, acrylic, and mixed media on paper and canvas.
Brush marks, paper textures, uneven edges, and scanned imperfections remain visible, preventing the apartment from becoming a seamless digital sanctuary. The handmade interrupts the fantasy of escape, keeping the world tethered to touch, time, and labor. Even inside the digital space, the material world remains present.
