Painting with Blood

This video documents an immersive installation that merges 3D animation, real-time interaction, and bodily metaphor to explore the politics and poetics of reproductive health. Built using TouchDesigner, Blender, and the MediaPipe plugin, the installation allows viewers to “paint” with blood through gestural hand movements, tracked in real time and projected onto the womb-like surface.
Inside the environment, viewers encounter an uncanny uterus populated by animated foreign objects—tampons, condoms, and IUDs—as well as representations of menstruation, yeast infections, and other climates. These projected sequences, generated in Blender, render the womb not as a purely biological space but as a contested site of surveillance, control, and intervention.
