My collection of figurative paintings explores the alienation of reproductive bodies through the lens of reproductive politics, menstruation, and the silent weight of contraceptives and pain. By engaging with the uncanny valley, I depict natural bodily functions as both familiar and foreign, creating a tension between the human and the artificial. Fluorescent pink hues and hyper-saturated digital elements evoke an otherworldly, almost alien atmosphere within the womb-like, cave environments.

Using the 3D digital composting software blender, I build surreal, uncanny, womb-like worlds where foreign objects like IUDs, tampons, and clothes hangers exist alongside distorted, nearly human figures, symbolizing the struggle between bodily autonomy and societal control. The figures, distorted, wet, and uncanny valley anatomy, provoke both recognition and repulsion, mirroring society’s discomfort with the natural processes of the female body. The viewer becomes an outsider, peering into these intimate yet alien spaces, questioning who holds control over the body.

By merging the organic with the synthetic, my work challenges the boundaries between the natural and artificial while reflecting the ongoing fight for bodily autonomy. This visual tension invites viewers to reconsider societal control over reproductive rights and the alienation often felt within one’s own body.
